iglidur® H is a fibre-reinforced thermoplastic material that was specially developed for applications in high humidity or under water. iglidur® H can be used completely free of lubrication; in wet applications, the surrounding media acts as additional lubricant. Selective laser sintering (SLS) material: iglidur i6
The iglidur i6 material was designed for laser sintering and was especially developed for manufacturing worm wheels for the food &amp; packaging industry. The tests in the igus test laboratory showed a longer service life than for conventionally milled gears - e.g. POM. This significantly increases flexibility in the design of components, because the laser sintering process eliminates the need for tooling and therefore special parts can be manufactured efficiently with no minimum order quantity. Furthermore, iglidur i6 is ideal for snap-on connections due to the higher elongation at break.

The laser sintering powder iglidur i9-ESD has a electrical resistance of 10^6 to 10^9 Ohm. This makes it electrostatically dissipative (ESD), and at the same time reduces the risk of unwanted discharge currents between sensitive, electrical components. iglidur RW370 is an abrasion-resistant, high-temperature tribofilament which was specifically developed for use in railway vehicles. In addition, it has the maximum mechanical strength of all tribofilaments and a long-term temperature resistance of 170 °C, which makes it the material of choice for high-temperature applications.

The iglidur i230 laser sintering powder stands out as another all-rounder material among the iglidur SLS materials. Unlike iglidur i3, however, it is designed for higher application temperatures and withstands long-term temperatures of up to 110 °C. Moreover, the material is 80 % more wear-resistant than PA12. Of all iglidur SLS materials, iglidur i230 offers the highest flexural strength and, in addtion, it has electrostatically dissipative (ESD) properties.
Good to know: iglidur i230 contains no PTFE and is therefore not affected by future PFAS regulations.

When a PFAS-free material is required
If the application temperature is above 80 °C in the long term and at a maximum of 110 °C

iglidur i190 is characterised by high wear resistance, as the material is enriched with solid lubricants. It can be processed on regular 3D printers, but a closed 3D printer is recommended. Due to its high wear resistance and excellent mechanical specifications (strength, toughness, coating adhesion), it is an all-round material that is suitable for most applications and 3D printers. Of all igus tribofilaments, only iglidur RW370 has a higher strength than iglidur i190. It can also withstand a long-term application temperature of up to 90 °C (after tempering the component).

For all types of applications where low friction and high wear resistance are important

It was specifically developed for use in the food and packaging industry: the printed components are compliant to FDA and EU Regulation 10/2011 and the blue colour ensures the required optical detectability. iglidur i151 is also an all-rounder material, and due to its good mechanical properties (strength, toughness, layer adhesion) it is suitable for most applications. iglidur i151 has comparable mechanical specifications as iglidur i150, by far the most frequently used igus filament. There are restrictions in terms of the maximum permanent application temperature of 65°C and for highly dynamic applications.
